Causes
The Thelazia worm, transmitted by flies that feed on eye secretions. Spreading in certain areas.
Diagnosis
The vet examines the eye and can often see the worms directly.
Treatment
Removal of the worms and a specific antiparasitic (some common antiparasitics cover it). Treatment of the associated conjunctivitis.
Prevention
An antiparasitic that covers Thelazia in at-risk areas, plus fly control.
