You choose the amount and the recipient shelter. Payment is handled by Stripe, a PCI DSS certified payment gateway.

Wallapets records it

Every donation is logged in the shelter's account with its date, amount and the identity of the donor (if you agree to show it).

The shelter buys

Verified shelters turn those balances into real food and veterinary care. They justify the spending with an invoice to Wallapets.

What you usually ask us.

Does 100% really go to the shelters?+
100% of the NET amount (after deducting VAT and Stripe's bank fee). Wallapets doesn't take any margin on the charity food: its only monetisation comes from commercial products like the WallaID. You have the exact breakdown below the selector.
Why does Stripe keep a fee?+
Stripe is the payment gateway that processes the card. We pay its fee (1.9% + €0.25) on every transaction. As Wallapets is not a registered charity, we don't get the reduced charity rate.
How is the money split if I choose "all shelters"?+
The net amount is distributed proportionally among all verified shelters with animals up for adoption. Shelters with more animals receive more. The distribution is carried out monthly from the Wallapets admin panel.
And if I choose a specific shelter?+
100% of the net amount goes directly to that shelter. There's no split. It's the ideal option if you want to support a local shelter or one you know personally.
Can I claim the donation on my tax return?+
Not yet. Wallapets is not a registered charity. We're working to make donations tax-deductible in the future, but as of today we don't issue donation receipts with tax value.
Can I donate more than €50?+
Yes. For amounts over €50, contact us at [email protected] and we'll help you make the donation directly or set up recurring donations.
