Causes

Diagnosis

Chest X-ray plus cardiac assessment. Diagnosis must be rapid.

Treatment

EMERGENCY: oxygen, diuretics to remove the fluid, and treatment of the underlying cause. Hospitalisation.

Prevention

Keep heart disease under control, avoid the non-cardiac causes (electrocution, heatstroke).
